         A WORD FROM THE     

          PASTOR’S DESK 

 

In my years of service at First Baptist Church one of the things that has impressed me the most is how loving and caring this church family is. In the heart of every person in this church God has implanted his love and grace toward others. The people here are human. We all make mistakes. The difference in us is that we are sinners saved by God’s grace.

 

Through His love and mercy toward us, we have found the true meaning of loving our neighbor as ourselves. I know that in the 20+ years I have been the pastor here, there have been many times our church family has reached out to help our neighbor. I have seen God’s people reach out in love to comfort those who are grieving, feed those who are hungry, clothe those who need clothing, lend a helping hand to those in need, provide relief to disaster stricken friends, give hope to the hopeless. Many prayers have gone up from this group of people for their friends and loved ones who need Christ. 

We invite you to come and be a part of this loving body of people to work and worship with us here at First Baptist Church.                              Bro. Dave

Operation Christmas Child Shoebox

JANUARY - Regular or plastic shoe boxes, nail clippers, small plastic drinking cups

FEBRUARY - Stocking hats, gloves, washcloths, combs, hairbrushes, bandanas

MARCH - Toothbrushes & holders, hair clips & bows, ponytail holders

APRIL - Small cars, dolls, stuffed animals, Yo-yo, small Etch A Sketch, slinky, kazoo, harmonica, watches

MAY - Balls, ball caps, toy jewelry, stickers, wallet, Legos, purse

JUNE - Tee shirts, socks, underwear, flashlights w/extra batteries, Play-Doh

JULY - Sunglasses, jump rope, jacks, coloring & picture books, ink pad & stamp sets

AUGUST - Pens, pencils, pencil sharpener, crayons, markers, writing paper or pad, glue sticks, ruler, solar calculator, colored pencils, eraser, school scissors

SEPTEMBER - Toothpaste, mild bar soap, soap holder, solid stick deodorant, baby powder, band aids

OCTOBER - Hard candy, lollipops, mints, gum

DO NOT include toy guns, knives, military figures, chocolate, food, liquids, lotions, medications, vitamins or breakable items.

Remember everything must fit into a shoebox.
